The Sow’s Ear is pleased to offer Cumulus Dappled, a lovely summer yarn from Juniper Moon Farm. Juniper Moon Farm was founded in Virginia in 2007 as the nation’s first fiber-based CSA (community supported agriculture) farm. While the farm’s flock has since retired, Juniper Moon Farm still offers beautiful yarns sourced from fibers from throughout the world.
Cumulus Dappled is a luxurious worsted weight summer yarn that is beautifully soft to the touch and remarkably light in weight. Its loft makes it well-suited for lightweight shawls, cowls and scarves or a summer baby blanket. Cumulus Dappled is 94% Israeli Mako cotton and 6% polyamide in a chainette construction and knits up at 4.5 to 5.5 stitches to the inch on size 7-9 needles.
The shop stocks four dappled, self-striping colors:
- Coral Coast (green tones)
- Flamingo Shore (pink tones)
- Shirley Temple (red tones)
- Tahiti Sunrise (yellow tones)
Cumulus Dappled is put up in 100 gram hanks measuring 251 yards. Call for availability.
